Job summary

Job Description

As a Customs Import-Export, Shipping & Receiving Specialist (Experienced ISC Materials Management Specialist) here at Honeywell Aerospace , you will serve as a flexible operations resource supporting multiple functions within the Integrated Supply Chain organization. The position acts as a cross-functional rover between Customs/Import-Export, Shipping & Receiving, and Stores to maintain business continuity during vacations, absences, workload surges, and other operational demand peaks.

You will report directly to our Sr Materials Mgmt Manager and you’ll work out of our Cambridge, ON location on an on-site work schedule.

In this role, you will be responsible to support the compliant and timely movement, receipt, storage, kitting, and shipment of material while coordinating with customs brokers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Customs and Trade Compliance
  • Support import and export activities in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review export documents and related shipment records.
  • Work with customs brokers to facilitate timely import clearance and resolve documentation or classification issues.
  • Validate commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping instructions, and other trade documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain import and export records and support trade compliance reviews or audits.
  • Escalate customs or transportation issues that may affect material availability or customer commitments.
Shipping and Receiving
  • Receive and process inbound material in the ERP system, including verification against purchase orders and shipping documentation.
  • Confirm part number, quantity, condition, labeling, and documentation accuracy before routing material to inspection, stores, or the requesting area.
  • Prepare outbound shipments, including protective packaging, labeling, carrier paperwork, and shipment staging.
  • Coordinate material movement between receiving, inspection, stores, laboratories, production, and shipping areas.
  • Track priority shipments and help resolve receiving variances, damaged material, shortages, and delivery exceptions.
Stores and Production Support
  • Kit hardware and production material in accordance with FAS requirements, work instructions, and production priorities.
  • Issue, transfer, return, and move material using accurate and timely ERP transactions.
  • Ensure material is properly identified, protected, segregated, and stored in assigned locations.
  • Support stock rotation, traceability, ESD controls, shelf-life controls, and handling requirements for controlled or sensitive material.
  • Provide coverage for urgent material requests and support continuity across stores operations.
Operational Excellence and Compliance
  • Provide vacation, absence, and demand-peak coverage across Customs, Shipping & Receiving, and Stores.
  • Support cycle counts, physical inventory activities, and investigation of inventory discrepancies as required.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to receiving, shipping, inventory, or documentation errors.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready work areas using 5S and Lean principles.
  • Follow all applicable quality, health and safety, security, ESD, FOD, and material-handling requirements.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce delays, errors, excess handling, and material shortages.
Qualifications

The Honeywell Aerospace building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and CSP security clearance.

MUST HAVE
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in any of the following, materials management, logistics, stores, receiving, shipping, warehousing, or trade compliance.
  • Able to safely handle materials and complete physical stores tasks, including lifting up to 35 lbs.
WE VALUE
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or another regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. import/export requirements.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods or hazardous-material shipping training, where applicable.
  • Forklift or powered material-handling equipment certification.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or structured continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory transaction processing; SAP experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of import/export documentation and customs processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

The annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000 in Cambridge, ON. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
