Job summary

Westcan Bulk Transport in Winnipeg is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on supporting drivers and customers, processing orders, and ensuring accurate, timely updates in our dispatch system.

You will coordinate with drivers on hours of service, route planning, and equipment availability, while maintaining clear communication and high service standards across North America's logistics network.

Qualifications

  • Previous dispatch or transportation industry experience is an asset.
  • Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate issues and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Match drivers, trucks, and trailers to orders while optimizing fleet resources.
  • Confirm drivers have sufficient hours of service to complete trips.

  • Prepare trailer-loading instructions.

  • Ensure delivery instructions are accurate and complete.

  • Receive customer orders by phone, email, and fax; enter them into the TMW system and send confirmations.
  • Monitor TotalMail and maintain accurate system information.
  • Manage the Driver Pay Portal and provide ETA updates to customers.
  • Complete other duties, including site maps and fuel cards administration.

Customer Service Specialist
Westcan Bulk Transport
Location: Winnipeg

The Kenan Advantage Group Inc., (KAG), is North America’s largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider, delivering energy commodities, specialty products, merchant gases, and food products across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Our Canadian Operating companies are Westcan Bulk Transport, RTL Construction, Les Distributions Carl Beaulac, and Fisher Transport – KAG Canada!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Representative to join our Winnipeg team. This role is ideal for a service-focused team player who is eager to grow within the organization and build a career as a Logistics Specialist.

This role is a modified shift with every second weekend scheduled off.

Responsibilities:
  • Match drivers, trucks, and trailers to orders based on load requirements and qualifications while optimizing fleet resources.
  • Confirm drivers have sufficient hours of service to complete assigned trips.
  • Verify equipment has the appropriate previous-load history.
  • Coordinate equipment availability for fleet maintenance.
  • Prepare trailer-loading instructions.
  • Plan driver routes, adding route or tracking points as required.
  • Ensure delivery instructions are accurate and complete.
  • Provide drivers with clear instructions and respond to their questions.
  • Contact off-duty drivers with trip instructions for their next on-duty period.
  • Communicate with drivers regarding any deviations from planned loads.
  • Communicate scheduling requests to terminal leadership.
  • Review completed-trip routing against routing instructions.
  • Ensure payloads are loaded according to instructions and optimized within maximum gross vehicle weight requirements.
  • Communicate changes to planned orders and update the system as required.
  • Monitor TotalMail and maintain accurate, up-to-date system information.
  • Receive customer orders by phone, email, and fax; enter them into the TMW system; and provide customers with order confirmations.
  • Manage the Driver Pay Portal.
  • Provide estimated times of arrival and communicate updates to customers when plans change.
  • Complete other assigned duties, including maintaining site maps and administering fuel cards.
Qualifications:

Total Compensation:
