Job summary

The Kenan Advantage Group Inc., (KAG), is North America’s largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider, delivering energy products across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. A Compliance Specialist role supports regulatory practices and information reporting through the Central Learning Center.

We seek a candidate with transportation regulatory knowledge, strong MS Office skills, and experience in compliance programs and audits. On-site with competitive compensation and benefits in Canada.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in transportation regulatory compliance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of transportation industry regulations.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills; TMW is a plus.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices is an asset.
• Ability to build relationships across teams and levels.
• Experience developing and administering compliance programs, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a compliance resource for operations and the Central Learning Center, providing day-to-day guidance.
• Act as a subject matter resource on transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external health and safety compliance programs and COF requirements.
• Monitor hours-of-service and Lytx events, provide coaching to employees, and escalate issues to leadership.
• Collect and analyze safety and compliance data to support reporting and continuous improvement.
• Manage contractor and customer compliance platforms (ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks).
• Support compliance administration through document creation, data gathering, and system entries.
• Ensure licenses/abstracts are current and coordinate abstract pulls twice annually.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and support audits internally and externally.
• Provide data and admin support for special initiatives.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Compliance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will support regulatory compliance best practices, improve information and reporting, and assist the team of professionals in our Central Learning Center who oversee our on-road programs. Responsibilities:

• Serve as a compliance resource for operations, and the Central Learning Center, providing practical day-to-day guidance and timely support.
• Act as a subject matter resource on transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external occupational health and safety compliance programs, including Certificate of Recognition requirements and related safety initiatives.
• Monitor hours-of-service and Lytx events, provide basic coaching directly to employees, and escape events to terminal leadership based on frequency and severity.
• Collect, validate, organize, and analyze safety and compliance data to support reporting, identify trends and risks, and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Manage contractor and customer compliance platforms, including ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, and similar systems.
• Support compliance administration through document creation, data gathering, and system entries.
• Ensure licenses and abstracts are current in the system and coordinate company-wide abstract pulls twice annually.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and support internal and external audits.
• Provide compliance data and administrative support for special initiatives.

Qualifications:

• At least two years of experience in transportation regulatory compliance or a related industry with transferable knowledge and skills.
• Strong knowledge of the transportation industry and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Experience with TMW is an asset.
• Knowledge of, or exposure to, occupational health and safety practices is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across teams and levels of the organization.
• Experience developing and administering compliance programs, audits, inspections, and corrective action plans
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
• Post-secondary education in Safety and/or Transportation is an asset
