Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) is hiring a Customer Service Attendant to provide quality leisure programs and services to military members and their families. You will manage access, assist with memberships, and ensure smooth daily operations at an on-site facility in British Columbia.

The role emphasizes customer service, cash handling, and program bookings; English is essential, French is an asset.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • CPR and Standard First Aid certification required.
  • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport required.
  • HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage access to the facility and answer customer inquiries.
  • Oversee membership sales and cash handling, provide daily sales reports.
  • Book facilities and programs, guide use of equipment, and perform minor maintenance.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of equipment and venue, support a fun recreation experience.

THE ROLE

The Customer Service Attendant plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members and their families. Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to the playground or gym. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign the kids up for swimming lessons, improve their fitness, make friends in a new community, our services are here to help. As a Customer Service Attendant each day will be different as you manage access to the facility, answer customer inquiries and oversee services such as membership sales while maintaining a cash float and providing daily sales reports. You will book facilities and programs, controlling the use of sports and recreation equipment while providing guidance to customers on the operation of the equipment, performing minor maintenance when required and help ensure the cleanliness of the equipment and facility. We are looking for dynamic, independent and motivated individuals to join our team, helping us ensure recreation is all about fun!

Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • High School Diploma
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
  • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport.
  • HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children
Experience
  • In cash handling
  • In office administration
Competencies
  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership
Language Requirements
  • English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
  • Reading: Functional
