Job summary

Dollar Tree Canada is seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team in East Gwillimbury, Ontario. You will assist customers with questions and recommendations, manage transactions at the cash register, and help keep the store clean and well-stocked.

You will follow instructions, exercise strong communication and organizational skills, and maintain a safe, friendly environment. This is a part-time position located at Unit #5-18126 Yonge, East Gwillimbury, Ontario L9N 0J3.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or related service environments preferred.
• Must be able to follow written instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations

• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register

• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets

• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise

• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards

• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders

• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable

• Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred

• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required

• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting

• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required

• Strong organizational and communication skills are required

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required

The starting pay for this position is $17.60 per hour.
