Job summary

Hydro One is offering a University Co-op Student - Customer Operations Innovation Analyst in Markham for a 12-month term. You will support a data-driven finance operation, focusing on billing, revenue management, reporting, and process improvement within the NEB team.

You will gain hands-on experience with analytics, dashboards, automation, and cross-functional projects, developing skills in Power BI, SharePoint, and SAP while contributing to customer experience enhancements.

Qualifications

• Discipline: Business Analytics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Academic Level: Second Year or higher completed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, SQL, Python, VBA, or similar technologies is a strong asset.
• Demonstrated interest in analytics, automation, reporting, and operational improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and contribute.
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the analysis of customer billing, revenue, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Support the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives by documenting current processes, identifying pain points, and recommending efficiencies.
• Assist in evaluating manual and repetitive activities and support the design and testing of automation solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Contribute to special projects focused on improving customer experience, operational effectiveness, and business performance.
• Conduct research and analysis to support business cases, improvement initiatives, and management reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to gather business requirements and translate operational needs into reporting and analytical solutions.
• Support data quality reviews and assist in validating reports, metrics, and business information used for decision-making.
• Create process maps, training materials, and documentation to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to team members and leadership throughout the work term.
