Job summary

The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is seeking a Casual Custodian (Supply) to help maintain a safe, clean school environment in Listowel, Ontario. The role involves general cleaning, minor maintenance, and supporting staff and students as needed, reporting to the Principal.

The Casual Custodian is scheduled on an as-needed basis, Monday to Friday, with an hourly wage of 25.29 per hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation pay.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial and/or cleaning experience is required.
• Experience in a school environment is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Proficient with Google Workspace is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, etc.
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
• Tend grounds and plants as required by the Principal.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms, lunchrooms and fixtures.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies.
• May perform minor repairs as required.

CUSTODIAN (SUPPLY)

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs;
• Ability to work as part of a team;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Proficient computer skills are required; experience with Google Workspace is an asset.
