Job summary

The Casual Custodian role at Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board provides a safe and clean environment for staff and students. Working as needed, you will perform general cleaning and maintenance across school properties, including classrooms, washrooms and hallways, reporting to the Principal.

This casual position offers an hourly wage of $24.29 with 4% vacation pay. Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, window washing, floor care, snow removal, and occasional minor

Qualifications

• Previous custodial and/or cleaning experience is required; proven school environment experience is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively; strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills; familiarity with Google Workspace is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, etc.
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
• Tend grounds and plants as required by the Principal.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms, lunchrooms and fixtures.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies.
• May perform minor repairs as required.

CUSTODIAN (SUPPLY)

The Casual Custodian, reporting to the Principal, is responsible for providing a safe and clean work environment for staff and students, by performing general cleaning and maintenance duties to the school property and grounds. Casual Custodians are scheduled on an as-needed basis, Monday to Friday, with an hourly wage of $24.29 per hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation pay.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate cleaning equipment to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, etc.
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
