Job summary

Dexter Construction Company Limited in Bedford, NS is seeking a Curb Machine Operator to join our heavy civil construction team. You will operate a curb machine, read basic specifications, and perform daily inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working order.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of curb machine experience, is well-versed in site protocols, and can read blueprints. You will collaborate with supervisors, follow a firm work schedule, and prioritize safety to help deliver quality

Qualifications

• 2-5 years operating a Curb Machine.
• Concrete form work and finishing experience an asset.
• Must be well versed in construction site protocols, rules and code of conduct.
• Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks requiring independent judgment and action.
• Ability to follow a firm work schedule as directed by supervisor.
• Willingness to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
• Working safely is a condition of employment.

Dexter Construction Company is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently looking for Curb Machine Operator’s to join our Bedford, NS operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a Curb Machine
• Set and check grades
• Read blueprints and specifications
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that the machine is in safe proper working order
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
• Ensure safety of fellow employees
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
