Job summary

Dexter Construction Company in Bedford, NS is seeking a Slip Form Paver Operator to join our heavy civil construction team. You will operate a Slip Form Paver to build concrete roads, barriers and curbs, and adjust molds and sensors to match project plans.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a Slip Form Paver would be an asset.
• 1-3 years concrete form work and finishing experience.
• Must be well versed in construction site protocols, rules and code of conduct.
• Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks requiring independent judgment and action.
• Ability to follow a firm work schedule as directed by supervisor.
• Willingness to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate a Slip Form Paver to build concrete roads, barriers and curbs
• Prepare and adjust the paver’s molds and sensors to match project plans
• Adjust paving speeds and vibration settings to prevent gaps or uneven surfaces in the concrete
