University of Ottawa is hiring Teaching Assistants for GEO1301: Earth: Natural Disasters Explained. You will support lectures, tutorials, and exams; supervise in-class activities and assist with grading and student questions. This is a part-time CUPE position on main campus for the Winter 2027 term.

Applicants should have a B.Sc. in Earth or Environmental Sciences or related field and be able to contribute to a dynamic teaching team in English.

  • Attend lectures of the course, participate in tutorials, and help correct quizzes and exams.
  • Clearly state all related courses and work experience; must have capability for online presence.

Correcteur / Corrector : $32.39 ou/or $38.86 (Sept. 2026 - Aug. 2027)

Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

Requirements and Nature of Work

B.Sc. Earth Sciences, environmental sciences or equivalent; the candidate must either have taken the course in the past or have an excellent knowledge of external and internal geological processes; attend the lectures of the course; participate in tutorial sessions and help to correct quizzes and exams. Please clearly state all courses and work experience directly related to position.Must have capability for online presence. Will be required to have access to a computer, the internet, a microphone and a webcam.
