University of Ottawa seeks eight Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor positions for the Department of Biology, Students & Casuals. Work is in person at the Main Campus with the SIMDUT/WHMIS training requirement, and duties include lab supervision, grading, and assisting with student sessions.

Contract spans Jan 1, 2027 to Apr 30, 2027, with bilingual lab activities in French and English.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of BIO1550 or course equivalent(s).
  • WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety trainings completed.
  • Experience supporting laboratory-based teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with teaching activities and demonstrations.
  • Grade assignments and monitor student progress.
  • Supervise laboratories and ensure safety during labs.

  1. Avoir réussi le cours BIO1550 ou les cours équivalents. Successful completion of BIO1550 or course equivalent(s).
  2. Doit avoir réussi aux ateliers sur le Système d'Information sur les Matières Dangereuses Utilisés au travail (SIMDUT) et sur la Loi sur la santé et la sécurité au travail (Loi SST) / Successful completion of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops
  3. Laboratoires informatiques. 2 labs / semaine pour un contrat de 130 h. En Français.
