The Crossing Guard Rover at the Town of Ajax supports safe and effective operation of designated school crossings. The rover mentors Crossing Guards, coordinates coverage for absences, and provides crossing coverage as required to keep pedestrians safe and informed.

Responsibilities include directing pedestrian movement, monitoring traffic, educating pedestrians on safe crossing practices, and responding to emergencies with calm, professional judgment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use email; cellphone technology is required.
• Valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's License; able to stand at a crossing for long periods.

School Crossing Guards work during the school year (September - June, excludes holidays and PA days) and must be available to work shifts between the hours of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday, exact times are based on crossing guard location, but range from 2 to 4.5 hours per day.
