Job summary

Wasauksing First Nation invites applications for an On-Call Social Navigator & Intake worker to support the shelter, especially on weekends and evenings. Qualifications

  • Degree in social work or counselling psychology is preferred.
  • 2–3 years of frontline experience in social services are required.
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license or access to transportation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Be a leader in a warm, welcoming environment while ensuring safety of guests and staff.
  • Interview clients to assess needs and determine eligibility for services.
  • Provide crisis counselling and help develop safety plans for clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and safeguard records.
