Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Community Withdrawal Management Services and Safe Beds unit. The role involves comprehensive nursing assessments, clinical monitoring, medication management, and health teaching to support individuals in crisis and recovery.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team in a 24/7 environment, applying recovery-based philosophy and patient/family partnered care practices, while ensuring safety and quality

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• BLS for Health Care Providers certificate within last 12 months.
• Experience in Mental Health and Addictions is preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric conditions and psychotropic medications.
• Experience with health teaching and group education.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent, evidence‑informed nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor clinical status.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions and health teaching to promote safety and recovery.
• Manage medications and coordinate with the team to stabilize clients.
• Demonstrate Recovery Based practices and patient/family partnered care principles.
