Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre seeks a registered nurse for the Clinical Rehabilitation Evaluation Unit - Northern Lights. The role emphasizes inpatient/outpatient rehab, mobility goals, and active patient/family engagement with a multidisciplinary team.

Strong communication, leadership, and mental health nursing experience are required. Applicants must hold an Ontario RN certificate, BLS certification, and demonstrate knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and relevant health legislation.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• BLS for Health Care Providers certificate within last 12 months.
• GPA certificate is an asset.
• Proficiency in conducting a Mental Status Exam is required.
• Minimum 2–3 years in psychiatric/mental health nursing (recent).
• Strong therapeutic and interpersonal communication skills.
• Class G license and driver’s abstract required.
• Knowledge of Recovery Oriented Practice and patient choice.
• Knowledge of risk management and relevant legislation.
• Experience with psychotropic medications, symptom management and health teaching.
• Knowledge of consent and capacity issues under relevant Acts.
