Job summary

WestJet is seeking Crew Schedulers to support Cabin Crew Members, Pilots, and Q400 operations. The role requires timely communication, adherence to regulations, and hands-on coordination of crew schedules for day-of operations.

Candidates should have airline experience and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The position involves in-person collaboration up to five days a week and may include weekends and holidays. Talent acquisition will manage the process.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year airline experience, preferably in an operational role.
  • Previous experience with flight crew schedules and CARS is an asset.
  • Intermediate experience with SabreSonic, MS Word, Outlook and Excel is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with credible interaction.
  • High motivation and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete routine tasks.
  • Proven attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Commitment to teamwork and a positive WestJet attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the phone promptly, listening and empathizing with crew members and maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure schedule amendments follow CARS, CASS, the COM, and FAM.
  • Monitor and mitigate crew duty and rest violations.
  • Implement IROP contingency plans and pairing modifications.
  • Adhere to Flight Operations policies and Inflight Department policies in the COM, FAM, and Crew Services Guidelines.
  • Arrange, confirm and track deadheading for crews.
  • Monitor and mitigate crew duty and rest violations.
  • Support other duties as assigned.

Overview Of Role

WestJet is seeking Crew Schedulers - Cabin Crew Member, Pilot, & Q400. This individual is able to demonstrate a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment. They will be required to adhere to regulations and communicate with all stakeholders, while ensuring crew requirements are maintained for “day of” operations in a timely and effective manner. Applications are being considered for our next Hiring Event in October 2026. Successful applicants will be place in a Talent Pool for available opportunities until April 2026. This position requires in-person collaboration up to five days a week. We operate 24/7/365 days per year. Successful candidates will be scheduled days/evenings/weekends and statutory holidays.

Key Deliverables Include
  • Answer the phone promptly, demonstrating an ability to listen and empathize with crew members while ensuring a high level of internal guest satisfaction
  • Ensure schedule amendments are following Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS), Commercial Air Service Standards (CASS), the Company Operations Manual (COM), the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM)
  • Monitor and mitigate Crew duty and rest violations
  • Answer the phone promptly demonstrating an ability to listen and empathize with crew members while ensuring a high level of internal guest satisfaction
  • Ensure implementation of IROP (irregular operations) contingency plans and required pairing modifications
  • Adhere to Flight Operations policies and Inflight Department policies as outlined in the COM, the FAM, the Crew Services Guidelines
  • Ensure appropriate deadheading arrangements are made, confirmed and tracked for crews
  • Monitor and mitigate Crew duty and rest violations
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience And Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year airline experience, preferably in an operational role
  • Previous experience with flight crew schedules and CARS is an asset
  • Intermediate experience with SabreSonic, MS Word, Outlook and Excel is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, with the capability of establishing respect and credibility through actions

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take responsibility for accomplishing routine tasks
