Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and present annual credit reviews and new requests to credit committees.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis on counterparties, compare with peers, and recommend ratings using internal models, expressing clear credit opinions.
- Analyze capital markets and corporate banking transactions involving regulated funds and agency principals.
- Handle capital markets products such as derivatives (swaps, foreign exchange, credit, and equity derivatives), repos, securities lending, and prime services.
- Manage corporate banking transactions including import/export trade finance and syndicated loan participations.
- Coordinate all aspects of the credit risk process collaboratively with Coverage, Business, and other functions.
- Review excesses in counterparty credit exposure reported by the Credit Risk Control team.
- Work with Legal Department to execute legal documentation, ensuring credit-sensitive terms are included.
- Review legal documentation during annual reviews, confirming all necessary documents (including guarantees) are in place and familiarizing with products covered under ISDA/CSA, PSA/ISMA, and SLMA.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Traders, Market Risk, Legal, and Operations teams to structure transactions that mitigate various risks.
- Support credit requests and transactions across all business lines for clients.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritizing requests and maintaining organizational efficiency.
- Participate in internal exercises to review exposures and ensure data quality for counterparties.
- Stay updated on industry risks and trends, including credit, regulatory, and legal issues.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance or economics).
- At least 5 years of experience in capital markets or credit risk analysis.
- Motivated self-starter eager to learn about derivatives and capital markets products.
- Strong communication skills to confidently articulate credit decisions and opinions.
- Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage workload.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, interacting with credit analysts, relationship managers, front office, and clients.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of capital markets products and related legal documentation (e.g., ISDA, CSA, GMRA).
- Formal credit training, especially related to funds within a financial institution.
