Creative Arts Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist

Employment Opportunity: Creative Arts Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist

Commitment: 2-3 shifts a week evenings and weekends

Mind 2 Heart Connections is looking for a committed Creative Arts Therapist to provide therapy in our safe and nurturing mental health counselling centre. We see children, youth, families, and adults in our clinic. We specialize in neurodiversity, trauma, complex trauma/developmental, attachment, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, OCD, infertility counselling, separation, and divorce. We are neuro-affirming and offer counselling and programs for executive functioning, emotional regulation as well as creating plans for children and youth with complex trauma. We are skilled in parent planning, trauma counselling, CBT, EFT, EMDR, and creative arts therapy.

Support for clinical practice is ongoing through onsite clinical supervision, professional development opportunities, and peer conferencing.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Degree, diploma, or post-secondary certification in the field of art therapy or expressive arts therapies.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of direct, professional experience (in addition to experience that may be gained as a student).
  3. Registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists or working towards full registration or licensed to work in Ontario with another professional body.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage difficult situations with confidentiality.
  5. Familiarity with trauma-informed practice, attachment, relational psychotherapy, CBT, neurobiology, and/or experience working with children on the Autism spectrum.
  6. Clinical aptitude, interest, or knowledge in the areas of child development, attachment, adoption, and intergenerational complex trauma.
  7. Membership with OATA, CATA, or other professional association an asset.
  8. Culturally sensitive and informed.
  9. Aware of Traditional Healing and Land-based practices.
  10. Experience with clinical report writing.
  11. Experience working virtually.
  12. Strong ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.

Starting Salary: Commensurate with training and experience. Independent contractor status $85-102 per hour.
