Position Details:

  • Location: Barrie, ON L4N 2X2 (Primary)
  • Type: Temporary, Full-Time
  • Hours: 35 hours/week
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • End Date: June 16, 2026
  • Compensation: Starting at $27.31/hour

Job Description:

Kinark’s Autism services are expanding, and we seek Instructor Therapists to join our growth. With over 20 years of leadership in autism services, we are redesigning our approach in line with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing Pivotal Response Training (PRT) to children with autism and their caregivers, both in-person and virtually
  • Administering ABA-based programming, including skill acquisition, behavior management, communication, social, play, and life skills
  • Collaborating with families and providing progress updates and coaching
  • Creating teaching materials and collecting data

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Autism, Behaviour Science, Psychology, or related fields; college diplomas in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, or Developmental Service Worker may be considered
  • Experience with ABA programming is an asset; RBT certification is an asset
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, and willingness to obtain appropriate insurance
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity and proficiency in other languages is an asset
  • First Aid/CPR training is an asset

Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Conditions of employment include a successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening or equivalent, and a Pre-Employment Medical.
