• Experience supporting audits and complex judgments.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).

We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Controllership to provide technical accounting expertise, financial reporting oversight, and governance support within a dynamic business environment.

This role goes beyond traditional accounting and reporting, partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Legal, Commercial, and Tax to support business decisions, assess complex transactions, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial awareness, analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a complex, matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Performance & Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, identify financial trends and risks, and prepare insightful commentary on actual versus planned results.
• Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Review financial results, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting submissions, and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Technical Accounting: Interpret and apply IFRS requirements to complex transactions, accounting judgments, estimates, and disclosures.
• Governance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting policies and control standards, identify reporting risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Audit & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external auditors, Finance Business Partners, Tax, Legal, and Operations to resolve technical accounting matters.
• Process Improvement & Transformation: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate finance processes, reporting activities, and controls.
• Business Advisory: Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• CPA designation or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, and controllership.
• Proven experience applying IFRS in complex business environments.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, financial controls, and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills, including variance analysis and interpretation of financial performance.
• Experience supporting audits, accounting assessments, and complex financial judgments.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proficiency with digital tools and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken.

Work Arrangement

• Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
• Minimum 3 days onsite per week.
• Daily collaboration with local and international stakeholders may be required.
