DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants in Surrey is seeking a CPA Articling Student to join our Cloud Accounting team. You will gain hands-on experience with bookkeeping, client service, and CPA-focused mentoring while working toward your designation.

You'll collaborate with small and medium-sized businesses, use tools like QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc, Plooto, and PaymentEvolution, and take ownership of client work with support from experienced team members.

Qualifications

• You have completed an undergraduate degree with a focus in accounting or a related field.
• Interest in bookkeeping, personal tax preparation, and working with small and medium‑sized businesses.
• Comfort learning new software; QuickBooks Online is an asset but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with clients and building relationships.
• Eager to learn, open to feedback, and proactive in growing your skills.

Responsibilities

• Get hands-on with client accounting: manage day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial records.

As part of our Cloud Accounting team, you'll work closely with a variety of small and medium-sized businesses, helping them manage their day-to-day accounting needs. From managing bookkeeping processes and preparing personal tax returns to working with tools like QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc, Plooto, and PaymentEvolution, you'll gain valuable experience across different clients and industries. Unlike a traditional CPA articling role, this position offers a more specialized focus on bookkeeping, cloud accounting, and client service. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of client work, build meaningful relationships, and develop your technical skills with the support of experienced team members. How You'll Make a Difference

• Get hands-on with client accounting. Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial records for a variety of clients.

Who You Are

You're someone who enjoys working with numbers, learning new things, and building relationships with others. You're curious, organized, and excited to develop your accounting skills in a hands-on, client-focused environment.

• You have completed an undergraduate degree with a focus in accounting or a related field.
• You have an interest in bookkeeping, personal tax preparation, and working with small and medium-sized businesses.
• You're comfortable learning new software and accounting tools. Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset, but not required.
• You're proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• You're detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• You're a strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with others and building relationships with clients.
• You're eager to learn, open to feedback, and excited to take initiative as you grow your skills.
