Job summary

Saskatoon Community Clinic is seeking a part-time mental health professional (0.6 FTE, 22.5 hours/week) to deliver psychotherapy to clients and families while contributing to program leadership across services.

The role collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team, participates in education activities, and supports practicum supervision. A master’s degree and licensure eligibility are required, with a current background check mandatory.

Qualifications

• Masters level training in counselling theory and practice or equivalent experience.
• Three years experience as individual, couples and family therapist.
• Eligible for registration and liability insurance to practice psychotherapy.
• Criminal Record Check required; EMR experience preferred.

CORE FUNCTION:

To restore and/or enhance the mental, emotional and social health and well being of Community Clinic clients. To do this through individual, couple and family therapy, education, community action, and program leadership.

DUTIES:

• To provide psychotherapy to Community Clinic clients and family members
• To provide program leadership as dictated by client and program needs.
• To work as part of the health care team.
• To participate in health education activities.
• To participate in the clinical supervision of practicum students.
• To participate on community committees and boards to develop and maintain relevant community services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Masters degree in Social Work or Psychology, or the equivalent in work experience, training and education. (To qualify as having the equivalent to a Masters degree, a person must have a Bachelors degree, such as a B.S.W. or B.A. (Hon. Psych) that includes several courses in counselling theory and practice and a counselling practicum, plus additional training and at least six years experience as a psychotherapist).
• Eligible for registration in a professional association and eligible for liability insurance to practice psychotherapy.
• Three years experience as an individual, couples and family therapist.
• Experience in program and group leadership.
• Significant clinical training in a broad range of assessment and treatment skills, for individual, couple and family therapy.
• Demonstrated ability to work as an independent practitioner within a multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Compatible with the philosophy of the CHSA.
• A valid Criminal Record Check is required.
• EMR experience preferred.
