Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping in Windsor, Ontario has an immediate opportunity for a Cost Estimator. The role collects and analyzes data to estimate factors for manufacturing our products, including stamping, assembly, and secondary costs.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, tooling, production, quality, purchasing, logistics, and finance to ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• College or University Degree in a technical discipline.
• At least 5 years in automotive and/or stamping environment.
• Able to travel to the US.
• Strong cost estimation and data-analysis skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Travel to jobsites to gather information on materials, labor and other costs.
• Read customer GDT and technical documents to prepare estimates.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Sales and others to validate estimates.
• Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Use Siemens NX and Excel to calculate estimates and model costs.
• Evaluate a product’s cost-effectiveness and profitability.
• Develop project plans for the duration of the project and support bids for clients.

Location: Windsor, ONCleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Cost Estimator in our Windsor, Ontario Stamping Facilities. The Cost Estimator is responsible for the collection and analysis of data in order to estimate the factors required to manufacture our product (Cold/Hot Stampings, assembly, and miscellaneous secondary costs) . This role serves as the primary customer contact and coordinates cross-functional teams including engineering, tooling, production, quality, purchasing, logistics, and finance to ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all customer requirements.
