CPA designation preferred with strong Excel skills and 4+ years in development or construction accounting. The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration with PMs, and timely financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain end-to-end project accounting from budget setup through final cost close-out, ensuring accuracy across reporting.
• Oversee a team of project accountants, assign workloads, review output and meet deadlines.
• Train, develop and mentor the accounting team for growth.
• Review job cost entries for accurate coding and true financial performance.
• Enter and approve project budgets and manage forecasts aligned with scope and schedule changes.
• Review budgets with Project Managers to identify variances and risks.
• Review contracts and change orders for cost allocations and documentation.
• Administer GC Pay for invoice workflows and vendor payments.
• Process monthly construction and intercompany billings across entities.
• Monitor back charges and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation.
• Produce ad hoc reports to provide financial insights.

What You Will Do

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the end-to-end project accounting process, from budget setup through final cost close-out, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all project reporting.
• Oversee a team of project accountants, assigning workloads, reviewing output, and ensuring deadlines are consistently met across all active projects.
• Train, develop, and mentor the project accounting team, building technical capability and supporting career growth within the department.
• Review job cost entries made to project job cost reports, ensuring costs are coded accurately and project reporting reflects true financial performance.
• Enter and approve project budgets and manage ongoing forecasts, ensuring budgets remain current and aligned with project scope and schedule changes.
• Conduct periodic reviews of project budgets and job cost reports together with Project Managers, identifying variances, flagging risks, and ensuring alignment between the field and finance.
• Review and approve contracts and change orders, confirming accuracy of cost allocations and ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
• Administer the payment approval software application (GC Pay), overseeing invoice workflows, approvals, and vendor payment processing for construction projects.
• Process monthly construction and intercompany billings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission across multiple related entities.
• Monitor and review back charges for multiple companies, ensuring charges are properly documented, allocated and reconciled.
• Produce ad hoc reports as required, providing financial insights and analysis to support management decision-making.

What You Will Bring

• CPA designation is preferred.
• Experience with Acumatica is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in development or construction accounting.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $115,000 Per Year
