As a Corrosion Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cathodic protection systems used to control corrosion in metal structures such as pipelines, tanks, and other infrastructure. You will work closely with engineers, field personnel, and clients to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of corrosion control systems.

Position Information:

• Work duration: spring, summer, and fall projects
• Rotations vary by project
• Day shift
• Projects located in BC, AB, SK - candidates must be comfortable traveling up to 3 weeks at a time
• Accommodations and LOA provided

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and testing of cathodic protection systems to ensure proper functionality. Install, test, adjust and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and CP test points/stations
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot cathodic protection systems for various industrial applications.
• Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity measurements.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports, including test results, system status, and remedial recommendations for improvements.
• Follow safety standards and best practices to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Requirements

• AMPP certification or equivalent (Cathodic Protection Tester or Technician) and AIT CP Level 1 are required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with cathodic protection systems; basic understanding of corrosion control methods and principles.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license (non-GDL) with a clean driving record. Experience with remote location navigation, including ATV/Quad/Sled, is an asset.
• High school diploma required; technical degree or diploma is an asset.
• High attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective problem solving skills and ability to manage time to meet deadlines.
