Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an Analyst to join the Corporate Strategy & Development team in Montreal. The role supports strategic planning, analyzes market opportunities, and helps define initiatives for profitable growth.

You will prepare executive materials and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external consultants. Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years in consulting or corporate strategy, strong analytical and presentation skills, and familiarity with finance concepts.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in a consulting firm or corporate strategy/corporate development.
• Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities to identify key issues.
• Ability to work independently while proactively contributing to a team.
• Strong presentation development skills for executive-level materials.
• Proven ability to synthesize complex issues and recommendations into clear messages.
• Knowledge of construction or engineering industry is an asset.
• Basic understanding of financial profitability concepts and corporate finance principles.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategic planning process by collaborating with internal teams and external consultants to gather information, perform analyses, and develop recommendations for strategic initiatives.
• Support the execution and monitoring of strategic initiatives.
• Conduct value-added analyses to support strategic projects and mandates (e.g., competitive analysis).
• Support the Strategy Manager in evaluating strategic opportunities by developing business cases and providing recommendations to assist senior leadership with decision-making.
• Prepare presentations for senior leadership and/or the Board of Directors.

The Analyst will play a key role in supporting Pomerleau's growth by joining the Corporate Strategy & Development team.The Corporate Strategy & Development team works closely with senior leadership and executive management to identify Pomerleau's key strategic priorities and ensure profitable growth. More specifically, the team is responsible for defining and executing the company's strategic planning process, assessing market opportunities and threats, recommending and prioritizing strategic initiatives, and evaluating, recommending, executing, and integrating merger and acquisition (M&A) targets.To succeed in this role, the individual will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, a solid understanding of corporate finance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
