Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Corporate Security Guard to join our Winnipeg security team. The role focuses on desk duties, scheduled patrolling, and delivering high levels of customer service in a high-profile corporate environment.

Responsibilities include managing access control, performing regular patrols, monitoring CCTV, reporting incidents, and coordinating with emergency responders as needed. This is a permanent position on weekends (Sat-Sun, 2300-0700) with uniform provided and opportunities

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Hold a valid Manitoba security license.
• First aid certification is an asset.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Proficient in basic phone and computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience as a Security guard in a high profile site is an asset.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist visitors, verify identification, and provide clear guidance while maintaining excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.
• Control access at entry and exit points using electronic systems or physical checks to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of stairwells, hallways, and common areas to establish presence, identify risks, and maintain order.
• Monitor and document all security systems and CCTV for suspicious activity or operational issues, escalating concerns when needed.
• Inspect and report maintenance needs related to security equipment and facility infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to incidents or complaints, provide first aid when required, and coordinate effectively with emergency responders.
• Secure identified doors, ensure proper locking procedures, and enforce property regulations and city by-laws at all times.
• Protect client assets against theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other safety concerns by remaining alert and proactive.
• Document all activities, including incident reports, maintenance logs, and daily reports, ensuring accuracy and timely communication of concerns.
• Foster positive staff relationships and act as the first point of contact during emergencies to ensure a coordinated and professional response.
