The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is seeking a Corporate Officer to ensure legislative and statutory obligations are met. Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, this role will manage bylaws, policies and FOIPPA coordination.
Based in Kamloops, the Corporate Officer will lead FOI coordination, provide staff training, and supervise reports and compliance with local government legislation. This is an in-office, full-time leadership role.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is located in south-central British Columbia, with dozens rural and urban communities spread across 44,300 square kilometres. The TNRD provides more than 120 local government services to approximately 144,000 people in 10 Electoral Areas, 11 member municipalities, and 25 First Nations.
The TNRD is headquartered in the City of Kamloops, the largest community within the regional district. The Thompson-Nicola region has a vast range of climates that experience true four-season weather, with plenty of year-round sunshine, little rain, and warm summers. Residents generally have short commutes, easy access to recreation and the outdoors, and a high quality of life. The TNRD acknowledges that we are located within the unceded, ancestral lands of the Nlaka’pumux, Secwépemc, St’at’imc, and Syilx Nations.
The Corporate Officer plays an integral role in ensuring legislative and statutory obligations of the Regional District and Hospital District are met. Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, this role is responsible for performing the statutory duties of a Corporate Officer and is the FOIPPA lead. Corporate Officer facilitates legislative processes for the Board, including advising on legislative matters and developing and managing bylaws, policies and administrative directives.
Leads functions related to the statutory duties and responsibilities of the Corporate Officer and acts as the Chief Elections Officer during local elections and assent voting.
Provides input to the vision and leadership on corporate administration matters and builds teamwork.
Prepares and presents reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Acts as the FOIPPA head and is responsible for the coordination of FOI requests as well as providing guidance and training to staff on privacy requirements.
Develops bylaws and policies and provides guidance to staff on bylaw and policy questions.
Oversees the organization’s liability and property insurance and contract management processes and acts as a resource to staff on insurance and contract related matters.
Oversees the creation of statutory right-of-way agreements, landowner agreements, licenses, leases, etc., as appropriate and coordinates legal/land surveys, legal document preparation (with legal) including purchase and sale agreements, site profiles, etc.
Supervises direct reports (staff) and provides mentorship, coaching and performance management.
This in-office position is based out of vibrant TNRD Civic Building which also houses the Kamloops Downtown Library, the Kamloops Art Gallery and a busy café.

This is a non-union position and is placed at the non-union salary pay level E ($117,247 to $139,999 annually [2025 salary scale]), plus comprehensive benefits and MPP pension.
