Job summary

Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology is seeking a Trainer to deliver practical, non-postsecondary corporate training in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for employers and clients in a hybrid and in-person setting.

You will adapt content for various skill levels, prepare engaging materials, and track learning outcomes while collaborating with the Training and Workforce Development team. Travel to client locations within 450 km and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience teaching, facilitating, or providing workplace training to adult learners.
• Ability to adapt instruction for hybrid/in-person delivery and varying learner levels.
• Willingness to travel up to 450 km for training locations and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Word, Excel, and PowerPoint instruction in-person and hybrid formats.
• Prepare lesson plans, demonstrations, and supporting materials aligned with course objectives.
• Assess participants’ skill levels and adapt instruction for all levels.
• Use practical, workplace-based examples to reinforce learning.
• Collaborate with the Manager to customize training content for client needs.
• Create an inclusive learning environment and track attendance and outcomes.
