Job summary

Shift Auto Group in Fredericton, NB is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead the Corporate Services team and provide financial leadership across its automotive repair stores.

Reporting to the Head of Accounting & Administration, you will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, cash flow and strategic analysis to improve performance. The role combines hands-on accounting with cross-functional collaboration, with occasional travel to locations as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• CPA designation (preferred).
• Strong leadership, financial analysis, and budgeting / business planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of financial reports and statements for the repair locations.
• Oversee and implement appropriate internal controls and procedures.
• Analyze financial performance and key metrics and provide strategic recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and internal policies.
• Assist with the preparation of annual business plans and monitor performance against plans.
• Provide financial oversight on parts inventory and assist with parts management practices.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure processes are in place to manage cashflow.
• Maintain effective internal controls and support andIdentify process improvements.
• Support business startups, acquisitions, system implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• Chartered Professional Designation (CPA) is preferred
• Strong leadership, financial analysis, and budgeting / business planning skills
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience in automotive retail or automotive repair organizations is considered a strong asset
• Business-minded, analytical, and committed to continuous improvement

Competitive salary range is expected to be in the range of $80,000 – $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
