Qualifications

Job description

We’re looking for a Corporate Accountant to join our Finance team at our Calgary head office! Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role is integral to our financial reporting cycle and provides exposure to complex accounting areas, consolidated reporting, and audit support. The ideal candidate is accurate, analytical, and motivated to grow within a collaborative, process-driven environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, disclosures, MD&A, and the Annual Information Form.
  • Own month-end and quarter-end close processes, including corporate accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting packages to management and the Board of Trustees.
  • Provide data and reconciliations in support of internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Contribute ad-hoc projects and financial analysis that help support strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Bring
  • CPA designation with 2+ years of post-designation experience in corporate accounting or financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and a passion for doing things the right way.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with accounting systems (Yardi experience is a plus!).
  • A detail-oriented mindset paired with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive, team-first attitude and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience in tax considered an asset.
