Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is seeking a Core Technician to support geology and exploration by ensuring accurate handling, processing, sampling, and organization of diamond drill core.

Reporting to the Senior Diamond Drilling Coordinator, you will work closely with geologists, core loggers, and exploration teams to maintain efficient, safe operations and high-quality records in the core shack. Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in geology, mining, earth sciences, or related field is considered an asset.
• Minimum 1 year of mining, exploration, or related industry experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Handle, cut, sample, and organize exploration and definition diamond drill core.
• Perform core orientation, RQD measurements, meter marking, and magnetic susceptibility measurements.
• Move, palletize, rack, tag, sort, and store core boxes, pulps, rejects, and related materials.
• Prepare and dispatch samples to external laboratories while maintaining accurate records.
• Complete data entry and maintain core cutting logs and related documentation.
• Assist core loggers and support field activities as required.
