Job summary

St Barbara Limited is seeking a Core Facility Technician for a full-time temporary 8-week assignment at the Touquoy mine site in Moose River Gold Mines. The role involves handling and processing core to ensure high data quality while following health and safety procedures.

The position reports to the Core Facility Supervisor and supports exploration and operations. The ideal candidate will maintain SOPs, ensure proper labeling and sample handling, assist geologists in field campaigns, and

Qualifications

• Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety of self and others; complete required safety training.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor contractor safety.
• Transport core samples between locations.
• Proofread sample sheets for irregularities and alert supervisor.
• Maintain correct sample order and labeling.
• Prepare and count/measure/label samples as needed.
• Keep sampling machinery clean and in good working order; report repairs.
• Report any irregular core findings to supervisor.
• Organize and prepare samples as requested; assist with process improvements.
• Assist geologists in the field during drilling campaigns.
• Site clean-up and general labour tasks.
• Housekeeping duties and preventive maintenance inspections.
