Job summary

Atlantic Gold, a wholly owned subsidiary of St Barbara Limited, seeks a Health & Safety Advisor for the Touquoy mine site near Middle Musquodoboit, NS. This full-time contract role reports to the HSE superintendent and focuses on leading safety across operations.

You will conduct risk assessments, support incident investigations, ensure regulatory compliance, deliver training, and promote a positive safety culture across our teams.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of practical experience guiding Health & Safety initiatives.
• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or an equivalent combination of experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of H&S systems development, implementation and monitoring.
• Certified in First Aid/CPR (Intermediate or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide visible health and safety leadership across all operations.
• Support risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses to identify hazards and implement controls.
• Monitor compliance with HSE plans, legislation, standards and site requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety communications to improve performance.
• Support emergency response planning and safety training delivery.
• Review HSE performance data to identify trends and drive improvement.
