Job summary

Canpotex Limited in Saskatoon seeks a Railcar Maintenance Coordinator to support fleet reliability and ensure smooth maintenance operations. The role requires 3–5 years of related experience and a degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or Engineering, with willingness to travel and work non-traditional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or Engineering.
  • Three to five years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience in safety-sensitive, industrial or transportation settings is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate railcar maintenance activities to support fleet reliability and availability.
  • Monitor bad-order railcars, maintenance requirements, repair status, and fleet activity.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities with railways, facilities, providers, and internal teams.
  • Support railcar movement and billing related to maintenance and refurbishment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor work completion and follow up on outstanding activities.
  • Escalate issues impacting fleet availability or maintenance performance.

As a Coordinator, Railcar Maintenance you’ll:
  • Coordinate railcar maintenance activities to support fleet reliability and availability.
  • Monitor and track bad-order railcars, maintenance requirements, repair status, and fleet activity using operational systems and reporting tools.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities and work progress with railways, maintenance facilities, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support railcar movement and billing activities related to maintenance, repair, and refurbishment programs.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support planning, compliance, and decision-making.
  • Monitor work completion, follow up on outstanding activities, and support timely issue resolution.
  • Escalate issues that may impact fleet availability, maintenance performance, or operational objectives.
You’ll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or Engineering, with three to five years of related experience.
  • Experience working in a safety-sensitive, industrial, or transportation environment is considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel and work non-traditional business hours as required.

  • Technology Proficiency: Strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience utilizing operational, maintenance, reporting, and workflow systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated commitment to accuracy by maintaining maintenance records, tracking fleet activities, monitoring work progress, and ensuring operational information is complete and reliable.
