Job summary

McKay Métis Contracting is seeking an experienced Parts Coordinator based in Fort McMurray, AB. The role requires coordinating ordering, receiving, organizing, tracking and distributing parts to support maintenance operations.

You will work with Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing and field personnel to ensure parts availability and accurate inventory records. Local candidates only; driver’s abstract and transportation needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in parts coordination, inventory control, purchasing, warehousing, or related admin role.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple orders and priorities concurrently.
  • Strong communication and vendor-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with inventory, purchasing, or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing, and field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the ordering and procurement of parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify parts requiring replenishment.
  • Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming parts and materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update parts management systems.
  • Coordinate parts requests from maintenance and operations teams.
  • Source parts and obtain pricing and availability from vendors.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and parts-related documentation.
  • Track outstanding orders and follow up with vendors regarding delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate the distribution and delivery of parts to field locations, shops, and maintenance teams.
  • Maintain organized parts storage areas and ensure proper identification and location of inventory.
  • Assist with inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Track returns, cores, warranties, and defective parts as required.
  • Maintain documentation, invoices, packing slips, and other records related to parts.
  • Work with Maintenance and Operations to identify frequently used or critical parts.
  • Support cost tracking and reporting related to parts and inventory.
  • Follow company procedures related to purchasing, inventory control, safety, and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

McKay Métis Contracting is seeking an experienced Parts Coordinator must be local to Fort McMurray, AB or willing to relocate. The successful local candidate will require their own transportation.

The Role:

The Parts Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the ordering, receiving, organization, tracking, and distribution of parts, materials, and supplies required to support equipment and maintenance operations. This role works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing, Vendors, and field personnel to ensure parts are available when required and inventory records remain accurate.

What we need from you:
  • Previous experience in parts coordination, inventory control, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, or a related administrative role is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple orders and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and vendor-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using inventory, purchasing, or ERP systems is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing, and field teams.
Additional Requirements:
  • Satisfactory 5-year Drivers Abstract.
  • Ability to access all client sites as required.
  • Able to work in all weather and working site conditions.
  • Successfully complete all pre-employment drug, alcohol, and physical abilities testing.
Schedule:
  • 7 days, 7 off 12 hours per day, ½ hour unpaid lunch
