Job summary

The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) in Toronto/Montreal is seeking a bilingual Coordinator, Content Marketing, to manage the day-to-day brand voice, distribution, and community experiences for Team Canada across digital platforms. Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • 1–2 years’ experience managing social media for a consumer-facing brand with large audiences across platforms.
  • Proven experience managing multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Threads, YouTube).
  • Familiarity with digital content analytics tools.
  • Content production is a strong asset; interviewing athletes is an asset.

Salary Range: $47,800.00 To $65,700.00 Annually

COORDINATOR, CONTENT MARKETING

Be part of building a national brand.Headquartered in Toronto, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence. We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including the participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.

The COC is looking for a bilingual Coordinator to join its Content Marketing team. Reporting to the Manager, Social Media Strategy, this individual is responsible for activating the day-to-day brand voice, distribution, and community experience of Team Canada across digital platforms. Acting as the front line of audience interaction, the Coordinator ensures content is delivered, contextualized, and amplified effectively, while translating real-time fan sentiment, cultural signals, and performance into actionable insights for the broader content team. This role plays a critical function in shaping how the brand is experienced in-platform, through direct engagement, reactive storytelling, and smart distribution practices.

LOCATION

This position will be located in one of the COC’s offices (Montreal, QC, at 500 René-Lévesque Boulevard West; or in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000). We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES

Content Distribution

  • Leads the distribution of social media content across all channels
  • Drives fan engagement by strategically placing content in front of Team Canada/Équipe Canada audience
  • Owns platform-specific publishing execution, focusing on timing, formatting, captioning, tagging and more
  • Extends the ROI of content through strategic distribution and repurposing
  • Identifies early performance signals and adjusts distribution plans in real time
  • Works directly with social media resources and team members (interns, contractors, agencies) to build a cohesive approach to content
  • Collaborates with content team to implement best practices for optimizing and testing to help reach business objectives
  • Owns the distribution of push notification on the official Team Canada mobile app
  • Execute on tactics following content distribution plans as assigned
  • Collaborates with content team to implement best practices for optimizing and testing to help reach business objectives

Community Management

  • Owns real-time brand voice across all community touchpoints for Team Canada/Équipe Canada across social, web and mobile app
  • Synthesizes fan sentiment and cultural signals for social listening reports with actionable recommendations
  • Develops and applies response frameworks, tone guidelines, and escalation protocols in line with brand guidelines and governance policy
  • Obtains feedback and ideas from Team Canada/Équipe Canada fans through genuine conversations, feeding insights back to help inform strategy
  • Leads comment moderation, DM approach, and amplification frameworks
  • Builds and sustains culturally resonant, engaged communities by sparking platform-specific conversations across Instagram Close Friends, Broadcast channels, Facebook Groups, and other social/digital communities
  • Assists with developing tactical plans for Team Canada/Équipe Canada’s social media channels
  • Stays up to date with the latest social media trends and best practices to help grow Team Canada/Équipe Canada’s online presence

Content Creation

  • Serves as a key member of the content team, participating in an on-going content planning process
  • Supports content on Olympic.ca through adaptation, light translation, and occasional writing
  • Plays a support role in the repackaging of content, transforming one piece of content into multiple effective assets contextual to various platforms
  • Owns the distribution of Team Canada/Équipe Canada bi-weekly newsletter
  • Contributes platform knowledge that increases Team Canada/Équipe Canada’s digital presence
  • Supports editing reels and shorts
  • Other duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS

Education and Experience

  • University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • 1-2 years’ experience managing social media platforms for a consumer facing brand or sports property with significant audiences across all social media platforms
  • Proven experience managing a variety of social media platforms with significant audiences including (but not limited to): Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Threads and YouTube
  • Familiarity working with digital content analytics tools
  • Experience with Content Production is a strong asset
  • Experience interacting with athletes and/or personalities and conducting interviews on and off camera is an asset

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken)
  • Strong understanding of social media best practices
  • Comfortable working with WordPress, analytics dashboards and distribution tools
  • Creative and innovative thinker with experience creating digital content
  • A strong understanding of Team Canada/Équipe Canada’s stakeholders and target audiences is an asset
  • Strong copywriting and web writing skills
  • Basic digital photography and editing experience
  • A skilled communicator comfortable speaking with internal and external groups
  • Ability to interpret data and trends to make social media and digital content projections
  • Knowledge of athletes, NSOs and Canadian sports industry considered an asset
  • Familiarity with content creation software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

COMPENSATION

The expected salary range for this role is $47,800 to $65,700 per year. The base pay within this range is based on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal pay equity, and market benchmarks.
