Job summary

The Academic Communications Coordinator at UFV engages with external stakeholders and community input to shape program offerings within the faculty area. The role builds partnerships to expand education opportunities and supports Dean’s office on agreements and faculty governance committees.

You will maintain the faculty website and social media, create promotional materials for events, and coordinate events from concept to completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience in a post-secondary institution, or similar organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including website writing, editing and marketing and promotions.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work creatively and effectively as a member of a team.
  • Proven success in developing and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Experience in agenda preparations, note-taking, transcription and follow-up for large meetings.
  • Event planning experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of editing and maintaining website content.
