Job summary

A local restaurant in Parksville is seeking motivated individuals to join as Cooks. This full-time on-site position offers competitive wages at $21.5/hour for 30-40 hours a week. Responsibilities include preparing meals, training kitchen staff, and maintaining safety standards. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and preferably experience in a commercial kitchen. Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for Cooks at 1522651 B.C. Ltd. Asian Kitchen located in Parksville, BC.

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Organize and manage buffets and banquets
  • Manage kitchen operations
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen or food production is preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
Compensation

$21.5/hour, 30-40 hours per week
