Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Cook at Case Manor in Bobcaygeon to prepare nutritious meals that respect residents’ dietary needs and cultural preferences. You will contribute to dining experiences that promote health and wellbeing, while following recipes, production sheets, and menu guidelines.

The role requires hands-on cooking experience, adherence to dietary requirements and proper food handling. Eligibility to work in Canada and Safe Food Handling certification are necessary.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience preparing meals in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Ability to meet prescribed dietary requirements, proper food temperatures and portion control.
  • Monitor quality of food supplies and advise on corrective action.
  • In the absence of the team leader, take responsibility for departmental operations.

As a Cook, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while gaining an understanding of residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and cultural considerations. What makes you a great fit:
  • You have hands-on experience preparing meals and snacks in a fast-paced kitchen, following recipes, production sheets, and menu guidelines.
  • You understand the importance of meeting prescribed dietary requirements, proper food temperatures, and portion control while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises team leader of problems and makes recommendations about corrective action
  • In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases food and other supplies from authorized suppliers
What you need to know:
  • Grade 12 minimum education required
  • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate
  • Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position
