Creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza, Jardin, and Distillery Events (The Distillery District - Loft and Archeo) are seeking experienced and motivated Line and Senior Line Cooks with a passion for creating an exceptionally crafted dining experience. The ideal candidate understands that exceptional food is at the heart of hospitality and acts as an ambassador to Toronto's unique food and beverage culture.

Please note : You must already have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this role.

What you’ll experience with The DRC :

  • Salary of $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, plus tips and food discounts at all our restaurants.
  • Career growth opportunities under the guidance of the DRC’s talented Executive Chef team led by Culinary Director, Chef Tim Miles.
  • Monthly cooking competitions called the Greatest Dish Challenge, with cash prizes and opportunities to showcase your skills to DRC’s Executive Chefs.
  • Field trips to artisan food producers, farms, and suppliers to educate and inspire.
  • Recognition and prizes for outstanding work ethic through Golden Tickets.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Preparing food according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the Executive Chef.
  • Operating standard kitchen equipment safely.
  • Maintaining clean and organized stations.
  • Following FIFO method to ensure product freshness.
  • Moving food products and supplies between outlets as needed.
  • Reporting equipment or utensil malfunctions to the Chef on duty.
  • Collaborating with BOH team members.
  • Upholding DRC’s core beliefs and values daily.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring to the kitchen :

  • 2-3 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • A culinary degree/diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • A genuine passion for food and a drive to create.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
  • A humble personality with a good sense of humor.

Please note : This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have more than one year of professional cooking experience.
