  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and equipment.
  • Supervise and direct Dietary Aides during food preparation and meal service.
  • Work within the set budget, minimize waste, and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep records such as menu changes, purchase orders, delivery receipts, and temperature checks in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
  • Assist with FIFO process for food and supplies.
  • Collaborate with all Food Services and other departments.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current food handling certificate from a local health authority or recent completion of a recognized food handler training program (training can be provided).
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience in healthcare or hospitality is an asset.
  • Knowledge of weights, measurements, recipe conversion, and portion control.
  • Familiarity with Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Canada’s Food Guide, and therapeutic diets.
  • Understanding of HACCP, WHMIS, OHS, and sanitation standards.
  • Physical and mental ability to perform duties.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and understanding of seniors' needs.
  • Clear criminal background check (vulnerable sector screening within last 6 months), recent TB test or Chest X-ray, and two supervisory references.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive wages.
  • Support for personal and professional growth.

We look forward to speaking with you and Making Every Moment Matter. Although we appreciate all applications, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.

We are committed to inclusion, diversity, and equity, welcoming applications from all persons. We accommodate accessibility needs during the hiring process; please notify us of any requirements.
