A luxury hotel in Metro Vancouver is seeking a Cook 3 to join their kitchen team. This role offers an opportunity for career progression within a prestigious environment. The ideal candidate will prepare, cook, and service food items, ensuring high standards of quality and cleanliness. Must be able to work under pressure and possess a BC Food Safe certification. Additionally, candidates should be team players with strong communication skills. Competitive pay of $31.35 per hour after probation included.

Job Description

What you will be doing:

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive service
• Prepare, cook and service all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
• Able to interpret a BEO and will ask superior for guidance
• Strong knowledge of quantities needed for service and upcoming volumes
• Able to write a thorough and complete prep list
• Responding to guest requests and concerns in a personal, prompt and courteous manner
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
• Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Participating in staff meetings and training
• Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous kitchen experience an asset
• Creative and passionate about food and customer service
• Able to work in a high‑pressure environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
• A valid BC Food Safe certification
• Willing and able to work all shifts including AM, PM and overnight

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
