Canad Inns in Brandon, MB is seeking a Cook 3 (Buffet Attendant/Prep Cook) to represent the kitchen and maintain hot and cold buffets with a professional, upbeat attitude. You may also cover Kitchen Steward duties when needed.

Based in Brandon, you will handle guest inquiries, prep meals, and assist with cost controls while ensuring food safety and quality. This role requires flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Can acquire a Criminal Background Check.
• Valid Food Handler Certificate.
• Demonstrated knife skills and safe food preparation practices.
• Previous customer service experience is an asset.
• Detail-oriented.
• Multi-tasks efficiently.
• Organized, accurate, and reliable.
• Prioritizes and works efficiently with limited supervision.
• Professional attitude and expectations.
• Ability to lift, balance, and carry trays of up to 20 lbs during your shift.
• Can acquire WHMIS certification.

Responsibilities

• Answer all guest inquiries regarding food choices.
• Anticipate and tend to all guest needs.
• Assist with the development of cost control systems to reduce waste in food, supplies, and labour.
• Assist the Cook as necessary.
• Ensure Hot Food is Hot & Cold Food is Cold.
• Cook omelets, sauté stations, prepare cold buffet, banquet salads, platters, prep, dish up food and prep where required.
• Wrap, label and date all food.

Job description

The primary purpose of the position is to act as an ambassador for the kitchen, representing all Outlets and Canad Inns. The Cook 3 (Buffet Attendant/Prep Cook) serves the public with a professional, friendly and upbeat attitude. The Cook 3 (Buffet Attendant/Prep Cook) monitors and maintains the hot and cold buffets and will take the considerations and requests of guests above all other duties. The Cook 3 may also be required to complete the responsibilities of the Kitchen Steward in the absence of one.

Important Notice: This position is located in Brandon, MB, Canada.
