Canad Inns in Winnipeg, Canada is seeking a Kitchen Steward to maintain a clean, organized kitchen and proper inventory levels. The role includes receiving and storing orders and supporting cooks and servers, with growth opportunities based on performance.

Ideal candidates can work Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, with approx. 16 hours per week. Must obtain Food Handler and WHMIS certificates and pass a background check. Join a team focused on cleanliness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and servers as needed.
• Receive and store orders; maintain storage areas.
• Keep kitchen clean and organized; monitor temperatures and chemicals.
• Record breakages and assist with prep duties.
• Support buffet/line areas as required.

Job description

The primary purpose of the position is ensuring the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times. The Kitchen Steward will maintain a proper level of clean inventory with a high standard of cleanliness according to the sanitation code. The Kitchen Steward, upon demonstrated job performance excellence, will be considered for numerous growth opportunities. The Kitchen Steward will also be responsible for receiving and putting away orders.

Looking for specifically Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night availability. Possible other shifts may be requested or needed. Approx 16 hours/wk currently.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all sanitation guidelines;
• Assist the Cooks and Servers as necessary;
• Dispose of waste;
• Ensure all items are clean according to sanitation guidelines;
• Maintain a clean and organized work area;
• Monitor proper tank temperatures and chemicals;
• Record all breakage;
• Assist the buffet or line areas with required prep duties;
• Clean and organize all storage areas; including assisting with receiving.
• Sweep and mop storage area floors;
• Label and identify product area (if needed).

Qualifications:

• Able to work days, evenings and/or weekends;
• Can acquire Criminal Background Check and Food Handler & WHMIS certificates;
• Clean, with good hygiene habits;
• Communicates effectively;
• Detail-oriented;

• Organized, accurate and reliable;
