Job summary

The Government of Yukon invites applications for a Cook position based in Whitehorse, Yukon. This auxiliary on-call role involves preparing meals for youth aged 12-17 and staff at the Young Offender’s Facility, and catering Youth Justice functions.

The candidate must hold a Journeyman Cook Certification (Red Seal) and have recent experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen, with the ability to work independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Recent experience preparing meals for individuals and/or groups in a commercial or institutional setting (including hotel, restaurant, camp, catering or cafeteria).
• Wear cooking scrubs.
• Capability of heavy lifting.
• Must handle cleaning chemicals such as Bleach, EP50.
