Reports to: Manager of Support Services

Status: Term

Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals as outlined on the daily menu.
  • Prepare food for special meetings and events.
  • Do preparation for the next day's meals.
  • Always maintain a clean and sanitary workplace.
  • Report any safety issues to manager.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be familiar with the Canada Food Guide and ready to prepare meals according to special dietary needs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable and able to work all shifts.
  • Ability to lift 10 kg.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Successful completion of secondary school or equivalency.
  • Completion of Culinary School is an asset and/or one year experience in volume cooking, preferably hospital setting.
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset.
  • Knowledge of dietary department procedures.
  • Knowledge in the proper handling and storage of food and ability to follow the dietary sanitation code.
