Job summary

McCain Foods (Canada) Grand Falls Fry Plant is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals for employees and visitors, maintaining food safety and sanitation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role covers daily meal service, event catering, inventory support, and cash handling, with a Monday to Friday shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
• Completion of a recognized food safety course, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional extended hours as required.
• Strong attendance record and commitment to reliability.
• Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and service requirements.
• Support daily meal service and special event catering activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and workstation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Assist with food preparation, portion control, and inventory management activities.
• Monitor ingredient quality and freshness, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Source required ingredients and supplies, including oil and potatoes, to ensure operational readiness.
• Process cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
• Deliver meals promptly and efficiently during service periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support kitchen and cafeteria operations.

About The Role

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a Cook to join our Fry Plant facility in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. This role is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and operational standards. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the successful candidate will contribute to daily food service operations, support special events, and help ensure an exceptional dining experience for employees and visitors. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, flexibility, and teamwork, with regular physical activity including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Previous experience in a cooking, food service, or kitchen environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Completion of a recognized food safety course, or willingness to obtain certification in accordance with New Brunswick requirements.
• Ability to work a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional extended hours as required.
• Strong attendance record and commitment to reliability.
• Good mathematical skills and attention to detail for cash handling responsibilities.
• Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and a positive attitude.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.

About The Team

The Cook is part of the Fry Plant team in Grand Falls, supporting daily food service operations for employees and visitors. This role works closely with plant personnel and other support functions to help create a safe, welcoming, and efficient dining experience while contributing to the overall success of site operations.

Compensation Package: - Starting at 26.17 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
