Job summary

Origin at Spring Creek in Canmore, AB is hiring a Cook for full-time, permanent work. Wage is 22.00/hour with a 37.5-hour week. Two weeks vacation and a group benefits plan after 3 months of continuous employment. On-site housing is available along with holiday and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, portioning, coordinating kitchen staff, inventory management, and ensuring food quality and safety. English communication is required, and high school completion is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must have completed high school.
• Must have at least 2 years of commercial cooking experience.
• Must be able to multi-task and plan ahead.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Must have excellent communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes according to hotel recipes.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to company recipes using various kitchen equipment.
• Precook necessary ingredients and pre-assemble dishes with appropriate portions.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food.
• Coordinate the work activities of kitchen staff.
• Prepare weekly work schedules and requisitions for commissary meats and other food items.
• Engage in the inventory of food items and estimate quantities to be prepared.
• Monitor and order supplies as required.
• Ensure all food is prepared fresh and of the highest quality.
• Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.

Terms of Employment

Wage: 22.00/hour

Position: Full-time, Permanent.

Vacation: 2 weeks

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
